Friends, this upcoming Sunday, Palm Sunday – the day we remember Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, a little less than a week before his passion – we will be collecting the One Great Hour of Sharing Offering. It is our denomination’s strongest offering of the year and it has a long history in this church. As a team member of our Presbytery’s Mission Outreach Committee, I have worked with faithful Christ-centered people who have helped work in the Presbyterian Hunger Program and with pastors and elders of churches who have sent teams to help with the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance program. In particular, our Presbytery has sent teams to New Orleans to help in the recovery process following Hurricane Katrina. The offering donated to these programs in the One Great Hour of Sharing Offering is essential and it goes to those who desperately need it the most. Read through a few of the informational items below and check on the links within for more information or simply go to our denomination’s offering website: http://www.pcusa.org/oghs/about.htm.
I encourage you to prayerfully and joyfully give to the One Great Hour of Sharing offering this Sunday.
