Deacons Yard Sale October 2

It’s that time of year again…time to find items to donate to the Annual Deacon’s Yard Sale.

The yard sale will be held on Saturday, October 2, from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm. This is the BIG fundraiser for the Deacons and monies earned from this sale go to support congregation and community mission work done throughout the year by the Deacons for those in need.

We will be setting up and pricing Monday September 27-Friday October 1.  You may start bringing your donated items to Faith Center on Tuesday September 28 between the hours of 9:00 am – 3:00 pm.  If you need help with transporting large items, please call Cheryl Hall or leave a message at the church office. Hopefully, we can help get them here.

The Deacons view this yard sale as a service and a mission in our community.  We strive to provide usable goods at low prices. Clothes, toys, books, furniture, small appliances (that work of course), dishes and sports equipment are all good items to donate. Tools, shelves and yard care items are good as long as they are in good working condition. Also, flower pots and plants. We ask you to please check your items before donating them.  If you are not sure about an item you, please contact one of the Deacons or the church office.   We like to provide items that are clean and in good condition.  If items are stained, or have rips we will not have buyers for them. The same is true for broken toys or toys with missing pieces. Remember, if you wouldn’t buy it due to its condition we won’t be able to sell it either. So please double check your items before you donate them.

 Items we cannot accept:

  • computer towers, monitors, televisions, telephones VCR and DVD units, radios or printers, batteries, microwaves
  • No hazardous materials such as paint or fertilizers, bug sprays or household cleaners
  • No food items
  • No baby items that a child “goes into” such as car seats, cribs. (This is because of safety recalls)
  • No mattresses or broken furniture

In Stanislaus County, items listed above can be taken to 1716 Morgan Road in Modesto on Friday or Saturday from 9:00 am -1:00 pm.

We want you to know how much we appreciate how willing this congregation is to participate in this event by making donations, financial and usable goods, and volunteering to help on the day of the sale. Your love and care for others is visible in these actions and a blessing to all. Thank you again for all your help with this event! We could not do it without you.      Your EPC Deacons.
