S.I.S. began a few years ago with the desire of several women in our church who wanted to get to-gether and study God’s Word. We trusted God to guide us and the Holy Spirit has blessed all of us in different ways through these studies.

Sisters in the Spirit just ended a great study on the book of Galatians by Henry Blackaby. What a wonderful reassurance that our only true freedom from our sin and the sin in the world is in Jesus Christ.

“So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.” Galatians 5:16

Now S.I.S. is preparing to begin a new study. It will be on the wonderful book of Hebrews; “Running the Race Before Us” by George Guthrie and Janet Nygren.

S.I.S. BEGINS NEW STUDY JANUARY 4

Why don’t you come and grow with us?

Monday January 10th – 6:30 pm

EPC Fireside Room

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing; but encouraging one another-and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10: 24,25

Sign up sheets will be available in Faith Center beginning Sunday December 6th.

Love in Christ,

Margie Sawyer, Ellen Nelson, and Elaine Holt

Begins Monday September 14

Women’s Circle for Bible Study and Fellowship will begin our 2009-10 study meetings on Monday, September 14 at 1:30 pm in the Fireside room. The Concept of a circle is drived from the Presbyterian Women’s organization of the PCUSA. Presbyterian Women (PW) has a history of more than 200 years and is committed to nurturing faith, supporting the church’s mission, working for justice, and building community. The circle is a small group meeting of women where:

Faith is nurtured and growth takes place through worship, study, friendship & outreach

Women are challenged to stretch beyond their limits

Women move beyond the safe places of life and reach out to others

Our Women’s Circle will meet the second Monday of each month (September-May) from 1:30 pm-3:30 pm in the Fireside Room. All women of the church are welcome to attend.

We will be studying “Joshua – A Journey of Faith” by Dr. Mary Mikhael. Mary is a professor of Christian Education at the Near East School of Theology (NEST) in Beirut, Lebanon and has served as its President since 1994. In this year’s Bible Study, Mikhael pursues themes such as leadership, the concept of “holy war” and outsiders becoming insiders while teaching how to find rest in the justice and mercy of God.

Please join us on Monday, September 14 as we begin this Bible Study to expand our perceptions, deepen our understanding, and reflect on our lives as Christian women.
